My First Attempt to a children’s book probably not that good but an attempt it is

The puppy bounded up the hill barking and prancing in the night.

Wishing he could touch the stars.

He barked and jumped high into the sky trying to reach the twinkling stars.

The puppy his whole life wanted to reach the stars.

But no matter what he tried he seemed to small to reach the stars

Every night he would run to the top of the hill and try to jump as high as he can to grab one of the stars to hold onto.

But as he reached the top of the hill, to attempt to grab a star again, the puppy met a tall elephant.

The elephant, his whole life, loved to look up at the stars.

Every night he would stand out in a clearing and stare at the stars.

Watching the beautiful dances of the night sky.

Sometimes making a wish on all the falling stars he could.

He wished he could dance among the stars every night.

As the puppy came to the top of hill the elephant greeted the puppy, ” Good night my young friend, what brings you to this hilltop?”

Puppy yipped with excitement before speaking back, ” I came here to get closer to stars to try to catch one.”

The elephant smiled at the puppy, ” I think I can help with that how about you stand on my back so that you are closer to the sky.”

The puppy jumped on the back of the elephant and started jumping for the stars.

He kept missing despite how high he was jumping. He barked loudly and angrily at the stars.

The elephant then wrapped his trunk around the puppy and  lifted the puppy in the air.

The puppy was higher than he ever was. He shouted down at the elephant, ” I will definitely get a star now.”

He started reaching for the stars but despite how close he was to the stars he still couldn’t grab the stars.

The puppy started howling  at the sky. His howls were  filled with sorrow and pain.

The elephant looked up at the sky with tears in his eyes. He felt bad for the puppy.

As he watched the sky, he saw a shooting star and quickly made a wish.

He didn’t wish to be dancing with the stars but wished that the puppy was able to grab a star.

Suddenly, the puppy  howls changed to barks for delight. For the puppy was able to grab a star.

The star shone brightly as the puppy held it.
