The Interrogation

The interrogation:
a long time ago,
i was asked,
what i wanted in the future,
i said i wanted to be a astronaut.
a few years later,
i was asked again,
what i wanted in the future,
i said professional football player,
years later,
i was asked again,
what i wanted in the future,
and i said i wanted to finish college,
find a job and make money,
and then one time again,
i was asked what i wanted in the future,
i then turned to my interrogator,
looking intensely into her eyse,
i stepped forward,
whispering my answer,
only loud enough for her to hear,
and i said,
i want to be with you,
be with you forever,
i want to wake up,
every morning to your smile,
i want to kiss,
you goodnight with you laying next to me,
i want to hold,
you forever feeling our hearts beat in sync,
i want to see,
you smile everytime our eyes meet,
i want to hear,
“i love you” everytime we hold hands,
i want to feel,
the butterflies as i hear you speak,
i want to be with you,
forever holding onto you tightly,
wishing to never let you go.

This is great. The change of direction when you discovered what you really wanted from life was well done. Caught me by surprise and made me smile. I hope you are all you wanted to be, and more! Wonderful poem!

Such a wonderful poem. I’m glad that you found what was truly important in life, love. All the other things are so trivial really. We all are born poor, and poor we shall die. We become rich only in the love we share.
